Welcome to your official Trézor® device setup guide. This walkthrough will help you start using your Trézor® hardware wallet safely and confidently. Whether you're using the Trézor® Model One or Model T, these steps will guide you through setup, backup, and secure storage of your cryptocurrencies.
Before starting, unbox your device and check the packaging. You should find:
Ensure your box is sealed and undamaged. Do not use the device if the package seems tampered with.
Plug your Trézor® into your computer using the USB cable. Your device screen will light up with setup instructions. You’ll be prompted to use Trézor® Suite, the official app for wallet management.
New Trézor® devices are shipped without firmware installed. This prevents pre-installed malware. The Trézor® Suite will automatically offer the latest firmware.
After firmware installation, you can create a new wallet or recover an existing one. To start fresh:
This seed is your only backup. If your device is lost or damaged, you can restore your wallet using this seed.
The PIN protects access to your device. You'll use it each time you connect your Trézor®.
A strong PIN adds a layer of protection against physical access attacks.
Now that your wallet is ready, you can add accounts for supported cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and many others.
Each coin is managed with its own account, and you can monitor balances and transactions directly in the suite.
